FAITH IS THE FOUNDATION
Faith is
the Foundation is the theme this
week as we focus on STEWARDS LIVING A
GOD-PLEASING LIFE. "And
without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him
must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek
Him" (Hebrews 11:6). Through faith,
we can become the God-pleasing stewards that He wants us to be. Stewardship expresses our faith. Don't miss next week when we will discuss
discipleship as the path for stewards living a God-pleasing life. Remember Commitment Sunday – October 26th.

J Why do
Christians give? Like everyone else,
we belong to God because He created us and keeps us going. But as Christians, we belong to His kingdom
of salvation through our baptism. This
motivates us to give what we have. We
don’t give to God because we owe Him, but because His powerful Gospel is
working in us!

SILENT DAY OF PRAYER – WEDNESDAY –
OCTOBER 22ND
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God

an election coming up, and Wall Street greed, not to mention people in our
community losing jobs and medical coverage.
Please fill out a blue prayer card with your prayer requests. Join us on Wednesday, October 22nd
to “present our requests to God.”

TOP REMINDER
“Last week at Pastor Akers’ Sunday School Class, I
passed out Box Top bonus forms. The form says you should buy Box Top
Products from Target, but that is not necessary. You can use any Box Top
product purchased at any store. Sorry for any confusion this may have
caused. When you are ready to turn in your forms drop them in the box in
the school entrance, or if you have children enrolled at RLS have them put the
form in the classroom collection boxes. Each household can fill out two
forms. Thank you for your support of this program. Tami Brooks.”

STEWARDSHIP
FAITH IS THE FOUNDATION
Do you ever find yourself comparing
yourself to the heroes of faith that we read about throughout Scripture and
whose exploits are capsulized in Hebrews 11?
Most of the time, we come up short, don't we? When is the last time you parted the waters
of a river with your stick? Have you
slayed any giants lately? How many years
have you spent as a spy in service to your country?
We remember the feats of courage and
strength while oftentimes forgetting about the failures of the men and women
whose names are sprinkled throughout the pages of Scripture. We forget that
they were not bigger-than-life people; they were simply people chosen and
equipped by God to carry out His work in His world. They are people commended for their faith,
even though there is evidence that, at times, their faith faltered.
We are not unlike those heroes. We, too, are called to be stewards living a God-pleasing life, and
we, too, please God only through faith. "And
without faith it is impossible to please God . . .” (Hebrews 11:6). At times, our faith, just like those Biblical
heroes, falters. Then we find it is God
Who is faithful – faithful to forgive, faithful to renew, and faithful to equip
us for further service as His stewards.

SECURING EACH CHILD’S FUTURE… FOR ETERNITY.

not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11

God has been faithful through this entire project. Thank you again to everyone
who helped in any way. A special thank you goes out to Gordon Claucherty for

FUNDRAISERS WITHOUT THE FUNDRAISING
Dear
Parents/Guardians,
Your school Parent - Teacher League strives to find
ways to raise funds to enhance our children’s education without the use of
direct sales. Following is a list of ways we can raise funds through
corporations. We hope you will help us utilize these options to their maximum
potential. There will be a central drop off location at the school main entry
for items that need to be collected to obtain these corporate funds.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Clip the white “Box
Tops for Education” (not the Betty Crocker points) logo from participating
products (General Mills, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker and Ziploc) and bring them in
to the drop off point. The school receives $0.10
for every box top sent in. For more information visit www.BoxTops4Education.com.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION MARKETPLACE
Shop online from over 300 retailers (Ann Taylor,
Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, Lillian Vernon, Pottery Barn, Target, Kohl’s)
through www.BoxTops4Education.com
and earn up to 8% cash back for the
school while saving gas and time.
We are now collecting
INK JET CARTRIDGE RECYCLING
Bring in your used computer ink jet cartridges to
the drop off point and they will be sent in for recycling. The school receives $3.00 for every cartridge.
MARKET DAY
Purchase restaurant quality food in bulk at a
reduced price through the RLS PTL Market Day program and an average profit of 10% from your
purchase will go to the PTL funds for use for the school. The food has a 100%
satisfaction guarantee that is provided by the Market Day Company. Order online
at www.marketday.com.
MARSH COMMUNITY SHOPPER
Apply for a Marsh Fresh Idea Card (not a credit
card) and have the cashier swipe it each time you shop at Marsh. Your total
purchase will earn us points towards free educational equipment. You need to
designate RLS as the organization you want to support. You can apply on-line at
www.marsh.net or at the store. Our
School code is 28992.
MEIJER GUEST CARD
Apply for a guest card and have the cashier swipe
it each time you shop at Meijer with your Meijer Credit Card or cash. A
percentage of your purchase will go to the school. For more information visit www.Meijer.com/rewards.
SCRIP FOR TUITION
RLS families can help
themselves earn tuition credit by purchasing (at face value) gift
cards/certificates for stores, restaurants, motels, gas stations, etc. A
portion of each purchase remains here at the RLS Scrip for Tuition program, and
the remainder is used to purchase the gift cards/certificates. The portion
remaining here is divided between each family’s tuition credit and Scrip for
Tuition maintenance. A complete listing of the available retailers is at www.glscrip.com. Kohls, and Marsh
are also available. Periodically, the earned tuition credit is posted to each
participating family’s account. At no time do Redeemer families receive cash
from this program. Scrip for Tuition updates and the schedule of order dates
and pick-up dates are published in the Redeemer School News. For more
information contact Scrip volunteer coordinators Peggy Gaylor or
TYSON PROJECT A+
Simply clip the Tyson A+ logo from Tyson products
and bring them in to the drop off point. The school receives $0.24 for every label sent in. For more
information visit http://ProjectAPlus.tyson.com.

you for your continued support!
