Welcome to worship! We offer respect and appreciation to all who’ve come to praise our Creator. Please offer your hand of friendship to those around you. Guest, please introduce yourself to Pastor Allison or Pastor Akers and complete the information in the Rite of Fellowship pad located on the pew in the Sanctuary. Large print services and assistive listening devices are available from the ushers or at the Welcome Center. For Pastoral Care please call Pastor Allison or Pastor Akers at the church or at home. A Sitting Room [in the east wing] and a Nursery [in the west wing] are available for infants through age three during each worship service. If little ones become restless during the service and are disturbing other worshipers, please take them out of the service until they have settled down. Thank you!  “The Lutheran Hour” can be heard every Sunday at 8:00 AM on WIOU 1350 AM, sponsored by Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

HIGH SCHOOL SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS...

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

Join us each Sunday morning for the following:

U       FELLOWSHIP - from 9:20–9:40 AM, in the school entrance for donuts, drinks and fellowship before attending a Sunday School class of your choice.

U       KIDS HONOR CLUB - Kids ages 3 through 6th grade are invited to join the “Kids Honor Club” this summer.  Kids will love these fun-filled sessions on the Biblical character quality of honor.  They will learn what honor is through a fishing expedition, how to deal with selfishness through a construction site, how to address their own anger and then go one step further by becoming peacemakers.

U       7TH & 8TH GRADERS - 7th & 8th graders serve as Club leaders and help the younger children.  Who knows, you might just learn a bit about honor as well… so join the club and help us have some fun!

J FAMILY FRIENDLY IDEA

J What is the “church”?  When someone says the word “church,” we think of a building where people go to worship.  But the church is more than a building, it is the group of believers who gather around the Word of God and the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  Before or after the service, allow your children to go up, with respect, and see the altar, windows, and other items.  Remind them that God comes to us here in his Word and sacraments.  He brings us what we truly need – the forgiveness of sins.

WATCH #5

We Are The CHurch is a spiritual renewal weekend designed to further your relationship with God and other Christians. It is a rare opportunity to escape from the temptations and traps of the world. WATCH #5 will take place October 10-12 at Sangralea Valley. Register by filling out a lunar blue form and place it in the lunar blue box marked WATCH at the Welcome Center.

WATCH Commonly Asked Question

A commonly asked question about WATCH: How much “touchy-feely” stuff is involved?

Do you mean are there any corny group activities like lying on the floor and pretending you are a cloud? No, we have nothing even remotely like that.  Do you mean is there a lot of crying and hugging? Well, you will hear how God has changed people’s lives. When God starts working on people at the retreat, there are some who cry and hug; there are some who don’t. No one seems to care who does what. Here is another way to put it: You know how faith is NOT based on feelings? Rather, faith is based on the rock of God’s Word? Well, sometimes, in the exercise of our faith, feelings and emotions will emerge. Some react, and if you are one of these, you won’t be the first. And some don’t, and if you are one of these, you won’t be the first either. Please don’t allow feelings to be any part of your decision to attend WATCH.

Next week's question: More about “touchy-feely”.
