Scrip for Tuition

What is Scrip for Tuition?

Scrip for Tuition is a program used by RLS families to reduce the cost of school tuition. The program may also be used to help fund school programs or classrooms.

How Scrip for Tuition works

First, the scrip family completes an order form by selecting quantities and dollar values for the vendors they shop/dine at. The total face value is due at the time of ordering.

Scrip for Tuition will then place a group order to Great Lakes Scrip. Scrip for Tuition pays face value less the vendor discounts, which range from 2% to 25%, for the order. 75% of the profit from your Scrip order will be applied to your tuition (or school programs). The remaining 25% is used by Scrip for Tuition for operating expenses.

Twice a year (December and May) Scrip for Tuition will calculate the credit earned by each family and report that to the school office. Then, when a scrip family makes their next tuition payment, the balance will be reduced by the credit.

Extended family and friends may participate and designate their earnings to a tuition paying family. Credits earned may also be designated to any school program or classroom instead of tuition.
