P.T.L. ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION

Many opportunities exist for parents to demonstrate service to the Lord within the school and P.T.L. Participation also provides opportunities to meet the families of your child's fellow students and strengthen relationships between parents and teachers. We hope that you will take time to volunteer service in some capacity. Following are the many areas in which the opportunity to serve is available. Your time and talents are what keep your P.T.L. a successful support system for the school.

Auction Dinner - Need an evening out? This is a night of fun for the adults but adults are needed for it to happen. Talents are needed to acquire donations, organize, set up tables and chairs, decorate, serve and clean up. Expect a night of laughs.

Bakers - Do you have a culinary flair? Baked goods such as muffins, cakes or cookies are needed for events where refreshments are served. Items are typically due one day in advance of the activity.

Book Fair - Reading is FUNandMENTAL! Assistance is needed to set up and take down book displays, help students in writing a wish list, and help with sales of books. Profits go to the library.

Bulletin Board - Are you artistic? The bulletin board in the main school entrance is decorated and utilized to inform students and parents about upcoming events.

Christmas Program Refreshments - Treat the sweet tooth early but work off the calories by helping to set up, serve and clean up the refreshments served after this school function.

Closing Day Picnic - Love a picnic? Help is needed to plan and serve lunch to all our hungry Field Day participants and spectators.

Corporate Funds Committee - Handy with a pair of scissors? This committee collects and prepares Box Tops, Tyson A+ labels, Campbell’s labels, and ink jet cartridges for submission for monetary funds. These funds help support P.T.L. functions.

Early Childhood Closing Program - A delightful night for everyone topped off with cookies and punch to show our appreciation to the little ones.

Family Fun Night - Love a good social event? This is a night for family fun! Parents are essential for planning, set up, serving and clean up.

Grandparent's Day - Looking forward to the Golden Years? Absorb some of the aura by assisting with refreshment set up, serving and clean up. This is a school function for which the P.T.L. offers assistance.

Lenten Dinner - Love to cook? This is our opportunity to thank the church for their support by serving dinner during Lenten season. Help is needed with cooking, set up of tables and chairs, and clean up.

Library - Love to read? Volunteers assist in checking books in and out, shelving books, maintaining card files, conducting inventory and reading to the students.

Market Day - Be the next Emeril! Parents help to organize sales, submit orders, and distribute quality Market Day foods once a month. No door to door sales involved. Profits support P.T.L. functions.

Mini 500 - This is Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten's time to shine! Volunteers are needed help set up and take down the track, assist the participants, and to distribute refreshments after the race.

Musical - Good friends and Good music! Another opportunity for refreshments and fellowship. Set up and clean up help is needed.

Room Parents - Wish you were still in school? Be a room parent and you can enjoy the best part of school by helping with Christmas and Valentines Day parties.

Open House - Scream for Ice Cream! The P.T.L. provides ice cream with fixings in conjunction with the Book Fair for a fun night of fellowship. If you have a flair for scooping ice cream, we need you! Set up and clean up crews are also needed.

Talent Show Spaghetti Dinner - Show your Italian side by helping to cook up and serve a spaghetti dinner that would make Marco Polo proud. Set up and clean up assistance is invaluable.

Teacher Lunch-ins - Keep our teachers sane! Lunch is prepared four times a year by volunteer parents for our teachers and staff to allow them some quiet time.
