Pastor Allison

Rev. William Allison has been serving as pastor at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer since June 1985 when he was installed as Associate Pastor and Minister of Education and Youth and has been the Senior Pastor since September, 1993.

Pastor Allison attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and was awarded the M. Div. degree and spent his vicarage at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, California, which is also the church to which he accepted his first call into the ministry in 1981. He also served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crown Point, IN before accepting the call at Redeemer.

His wife, Susan Allison, is a teacher at Redeemer Lutheran School. She received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska

The Allison's have two sons – Steven and Matthew, who are both college students.

Pastor Akers

Pastor Barry Akers is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He joined the staff of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in December of 1999 after serving two different congregations in Missouri. Pastor Barry is a 1987 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin and a 1991 graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

A veteran of youth ministry, Pastor Barry serves as Our Redeemer's Family Life Pastor. Among his duties are ministering to and coordinating activities for the children, youth, and families of Redeemer and the community (including singles, seniors, and more traditional family units). He also serves on the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod Indiana District’s Family Life Task Force.

Pastor and his wife Paula are blessed with three children. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys reading, singing, playing volleyball, and coaching his children’s soccer teams.

"I feel blessed," said Pastor Barry, "to serve our great God at a growing church like Our Redeemer and in a wonderful community like Kokomo."
